Kidney cancer, also known as renal cancer, is a cancer that develops in the kidneys. The real cause of kidney cancer is not known. But abnormal cell growth causes all cancer and it occurs due to changes in the DNA of the affected cells. Risk factors for kidney cancer can be hereditary factors, obesity, kidney disease, exposure to chemicals like cadmium or benzene, certain genetic conditions like von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease and lymphoma.

When cells in the pancreas become malignant, the disease is termed as pancreatic cancer. The pancreas is an organ just behind the stomach. Its main function is to produce digestive juices and insulin to regulate blood sugar levels. Exocrine cells in pancreas make digestive juices and endocrine cells make the hormones.

Skin cancer is the abnormal or malignant growth of skin cells. The disease has been categorized into three major types. These are named after the affected skin cells. The most common form of skin cancer is called basal cell carcinoma. The next common type is squamous cell carcinoma. The least common but the most dangerous type of major skin cancer is melanoma.

The abnormal or malignant cell growth in the thyroid gland is referred to as thyroid cancer. The thyroid gland is located in the neck. The main function of this gland is to make hormones that help to manage body’s metabolism. Thyroid cancer occurs more commonly in women than men. It rarely occurs in people younger than 25.
